The best care for yourself as the seasons change
Nature’s cyclical beauty is a constant reminder of the changing seasons. From the blooming flowers of spring and the long, sunlit days of summer to the cozy evenings of fall and the crisp chill of winter, each season carries its own energy. This offers us a unique opportunity to refresh and renew our yoga practice, lifestyle, and diet. My personal yoga lifestyle is illuminated by the practices of Ayurveda, the ancient sister science to yoga. A key aspect of Ayurveda is honoring the natural rhythms of life on a daily circadian basis as well as seasonally. So, as seasons change, my practices change to suit them. In winter, it’s warm, moist, yummy foods along with active asana sequences building internal fire to ward off the external cold.
